Blue House Bakeshop 

We hired Beatrix & Blue House Bakeshop for our wedding in June of 2023 and had the absolute BEST experience. If you’re looking for a professional, flexible, talented baker for your next special event — look no further. Beatrix not only made our wedding-cake dreams come true, but she also baked a variety of treats (cookies, cupcakes, brownies, fruit-tarts, etc.), in a variety of flavors (everything was so good we had a hard time deciding what to pick). She even provided gluten-free options for each! Everything was so delicious that even the gluten-snobs were eating the gluten-free treats to get a taste. Beatrix was wonderful to work with! The cake tasted amazing and looked unbelievable. Our guests couldn’t believe how detailed the cake was (a view from the top of Mt Philo) – it was a work of art! The lemon poppyseed flavor was a hit and perfect for a summer wedding.

Our cake was completely perfect. It was both stunning and so delicious! It was one of my favorite parts of my wedding seeing my cake. We went with the coconut almond and maple walnut, both were amazing, but the coconut almond stole the show! The pipped artwork on the cake was beautiful, exactly what I had hoped for.

We are so glad that we were able to have Bluehouse Bakeshop contribute to both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception! We loved everything we sampled and Beatrix was great in helping us solidify our options for a dessert bar. Our guests were raving about each of the desserts (mini fruit tarts, chocolate truffles, lemon vanilla cupcakes, strawberry cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, and brown butter cookies) and not a single item was left by the end of the night – we had guests finding ways to take the desserts home with them to keep any from going to waste. The next time we are in need of a celebratory dessert, we will be sure to work with Beatrix!

Beatrix went above an beyond to make sure we had exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. The cupcakes and cake were so good there was nothing left! The cake design was perfect and the communication along the way was spot on!

While we might have been the stars of the show at our wedding, our cake was a close second. Multiple guests went out of their way to let us know that they don’t usually like wedding cake but that ours was EXCEPTIONAL! Two weeks later (it has taken all of our self control for it to last in our fridge this long) and it is still one of the best cakes we have ever had. Everything we sampled from Blue House Bake Shop was fantastic, but the maple butter cream frosting is out of this world and will have you and your guests taking seconds, thirds and to-go containers. Bea was responsive, offered insight when we were indecisive on flavor/sizing and provided delivery for increased ease! We have no doubt that Bea was the best choice for our wedding cake!

Beatrix made our desserts for our wedding a few weekends ago and we were blown away! From our first tasting in the fall we fell in love with so many different desserts so knew we had to have them all at our wedding. We also wanted a small personal cake and cake for my 30th birthday the next day. We were having a slightly harry potter themed celebration and let Beatrix know. She knocked it out of the park, not only were the cakes beautiful but everyone kept coming up to us to say how delicious everything was! My husband and a lot of his family are gluten free so she was able to make everything gluten free for us and it was incredible. We also ended up moving our wedding date up a few months and she was so easy to work with and flexible with the changes. Highly highly recommend booking Blue House for any of your dessert needs!! We will be back for our next event.

Beatrix was great to work with from the beginning. We wanted a smaller cake with a big dessert display and she was able to accommodate, to perfection! She provided suggestions for which items would be good for the dessert bar and accommodated our requests for certain types of desserts, on-brand for our Vermont wedding (lots of maple!). She also worked across-vendors – we wanted flowers on the cake so she coordinated with our florist seamlessly to deliver. Highly recommended!

Beatrix was great to work with! After our tasting we decided on a small semi-naked two tiered cake (cider cake + brown butter vanilla buttercream and vanilla cake + raspberry filling), some double chocolate cupcakes, and as favors we got the homemade Oreos to leave in our guests room. Everyone loved it!

Beatrix is great!! She made cupcakes for my bridal shower and the cake for my wedding! Both were not only insanely delicious, but also beautiful to look at! Beatrix was kind, flexible, and easy to work with. Everyone asked where our cake was from! 🙂 Highly recommend.
