A DIY BLOGGER’S GORGEOUS SUSTAINABLE VERMONT WEDDING

There’s something magical about Lake Champlain in late summer: warm days, cool evenings, and the beauty of the changing leaves. That gorgeous backdrop set the scene for Marissa and Marshall’s Basin Harbor wedding this past year.

The bride is the creative powerhouse behind the popular DIY blog and Instagram @onecrafdiygirl, so you know there were going to be some amazing DIY details! “We wanted to make our wedding as personal and sustainable as possible,” Marissa said.

Stunning DIY Wedding Details

The couple and their community pitched in to do just that. Family and friends collected glassware for table settings, and collaborated to create standout details, such as the arbor made of oars, and custom “M” disco ball that glittered over their dance floor.

Another creative DIY detail? “On the wedding aisle, instead of flowers we hung frames on the chairs of all of our family members on their wedding day,  to honor the love that was present and those that have passed,” shared Marissa. And keeping sustainability top of mind, “We opted for flowers that were locally-sourced and seasonal.”

We love the personal details and the confidence Marissa and Marshall have for doing things their way. From their decor to choosing to do their first look with vampire fangs, to setting sail on an antique boat after saying their vows, their wedding was a true celebration of their love.
